Our pink oyster (Pleurotus djamor) fruiting block showcases a tropical strain that yields stunning clusters of mushrooms with light pink to deep pinkish-red caps, varying based on lighting conditions. These mushrooms are succulent and savory, boasting a denser texture compared to other oyster varieties. Their vibrant color and rich umami flavor make them a popular choice as a meat substitute.
Pink oyster mushrooms thrive in warmer temperatures, making them ideal for beginners due to their reliability in production. They are also among the easiest blocks to achieve subsequent fruitings, and under the right conditions, they should reliably produce a second flush or more!

Upon receiving your kit:
Unbox the kit promptly, unfolding the top of the bag to allow for adequate air space. Additionally, ensure the filter patch is unobstructed, facilitating proper breathing for the organism until you are ready to initiate the growth of your fruiting block!

Pink Oyster Mushroom Grow Kit
For most mushroom species, a shift in environmental conditions—specifically humidity, light, temperature, and alterations in oxygen and CO2 levels—is all that's needed to initiate fruiting or kickstart the growth cycle.
For optimal outcomes:
We recommend cultivating your pink oyster block in a fruiting chamber (such as a monotub or martha tent) as a controlled environment reduces contamination risks and enhances the likelihood of success.
Establishing ideal conditions:
Find the environmental parameters for pink oyster mushrooms on this page under "Temp, Humidity & CO2 guide" and on page 6 of our fruiting block instruction booklet.
Preparing your block:
Fold back excess plastic tightly and position the block face up.
Initiating fruiting:
Cut the bag with a single diagonal line or create an X. Pink oyster mushrooms can be fruited from the top or side.
Special considerations:
Pink oyster fruiting blocks are not tolerant to cold and will perish if refrigerated. They won't grow in temperatures below 65 degrees. Providing more light will result in a more pigmented cap. Color may transfer to lighter-colored mushrooms when grown or packaged together.
Harvesting your mushrooms:
Harvest pink oyster mushrooms just before the caps flatten out, removing the entire cluster with care to minimize breakage. Pink oyster mushrooms have a short shelf life.
Cultivating different blocks together:
With some compromise, various mushroom species can be grown together in a fruiting chamber. Consider the temperature range and CO2 sensitivity of the mushrooms you wish to grow. Humidity requirements often overlap for the majority of species. We encourage you to experiment with different groupings!
