Shipping & Pickup
Complimentary shipping is offered for orders surpassing $150 USD, applicable to deliveries within the contiguous 48 U.S. states, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories.

To qualify for free shipping, your total, after applying discounts, must exceed the $150 USD threshold. Regrettably, this offer does not extend to shipments destined for P.O. Boxes.
Certain items, such as large bags weighing over 20 pounds of millet, sawdust pellets, soyhull pellets, and coco coir, do not meet the criteria for free shipping.

Please note that due to restrictions on mycelium shipments, we are unable to dispatch any living mycelium products to Hawaii.
Hot ass shipping
Caps & Company provides environmentally friendly insulated shipping solutions. Our insulated shippers can accommodate up to 4 bags of spawn each, with a flat rate of $30 for the initial shipper and an additional $15 for each extra shipper. These fees encompass the expenses associated with insulation, ice packs, and any supplementary shipping costs resulting from the increased weight due to the ice packs.

We advise the use of insulated shippers when daytime temperatures in your location range above 80 degrees or below 50 degrees. We assure the health and viability of spawn shipped using our insulated shippers.

Despite the insulation, it's possible for spawn to experience movement during shipping. To mitigate this, we recommend allowing the bags to acclimate to room temperature for 48 hours upon receipt before returning them to refrigeration.
Domestic Shipping
Upon completion of the processing of your order, an email notification will be sent to inform you about the shipment of your items.
If a non pre-order item is anticipated to be out of stock for a period exceeding 2 weeks, we will proceed to cancel that particular item, initiate a refund, and remove it from your order.
Shipments that include Monotub kits will be sent separately. Consequently, these kits will be dispatched separately from the rest of your order.
Unfortunately, due to restrictions on mycelium shipments, we are unable to dispatch any living mycelium products to Hawaii.
International Shipping
Due to limitations on shipping and importing mycelium products, we presently do not offer shipping services to countries beyond the U.S. and Canada.
Your order will be dispatched once all items, including pre-order items, are ready for shipment.
Owing to import restrictions, we regret to inform you that we are currently unable to send substrates, tinctures, tea, capsules, and dried mushrooms to Canada.
Please note that we levy an International Handling Fee to account for any relevant brokerage fees and duties.

What are the sustainability benefits of mushrooms?Mushrooms offer several sustainability benefits: Low Environmental Impact: Mushroom cultivation typically requires less water, land, and energy compared to traditional agriculture, making them an environmentally friendly food source. Recycling Agricultural Waste: Mushrooms can be grown on agricultural waste products like straw, wood chips, and other organic materials, effectively recycling these waste streams. Reduced Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Mushroom cultivation generates fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to livestock farming, contributing to a lower carbon footprint. Bioremediation: Some mushroom species can help bioremediate polluted soils by breaking down and neutralizing contaminants. Efficient Resource Use: Mushrooms efficiently convert organic matter into protein, minimizing waste and resource consumption. Local Production: Mushrooms can be cultivated locally, reducing the need for long-distance transportation and associated carbon emissions. Vegan and Vegetarian Protein Source: Mushrooms provide a sustainable protein option for individuals seeking plant-based diets. Cyclic and Sustainable Farming: Many mushrooms, like oyster and shiitake, can be grown in a cyclical manner, allowing for continuous production and reduced waste. Wild Mushroom Conservation: Promoting sustainable harvesting of wild mushrooms can help protect natural ecosystems and biodiversity. How should mushroom substrate be stored?Cool and Dry Location: Store the substrate in a cool, dry, and dark place. Ideal storage temperature varies depending on the substrate type but generally falls between 40-60°F (4-15°C). High humidity or temperature fluctuations can lead to mold growth or degradation of the substrate. Airflow: Ensure good airflow around the stored substrate to prevent moisture buildup. Proper ventilation helps reduce the risk of mold or bacterial contamination. Keep It Sealed: Use airtight containers or bags to seal the substrate. This helps maintain the substrate's moisture content and prevents contamination. Make sure the containers are clean and free from any contaminants. Avoid Direct Sunlight: Keep the substrate away from direct sunlight, which can cause moisture loss and temperature fluctuations. Avoid Pests: Protect the substrate from pests, such as rodents and insects, which can damage or contaminate it. Storing substrate off the ground can help prevent access by pests. Monitor for Mold: Regularly inspect the stored substrate for signs of mold growth or unusual odors. If any issues are detected, take appropriate action to address the problem. Use in a Timely Manner: Substrate should be used within a reasonable time frame to ensure its freshness and effectiveness. Different substrates have varying shelf lives, so follow the manufacturer's recommendations. Proper storage of mushroom substrate is crucial for successful mushroom cultivation and preventing contamination. Always follow the specific guidelines provided with the substrate you are using, as different types of substrates may have unique storage requirements.
